I suppose... hm... I could add a Category on top of my controller to rewrite the way that it handles url connections and substitute a Mock. At that point, I'd worry that my tests were rewriting the behavior of the methods they were trying to test. I think in this case dependency injection would still be more safe. It's completely awesome that such a large, useful framework has been freely put in the hands of developers.
